LEA has completed design development drawings for the Sedona Fire District’s new Dispatch Communication Administration Building. This building will be located on Forest Road in the heart of picturesque downtown Sedona. It has been meticulously designed to respond to its urban context and tight site constraints by clearly defining the street edge and providing an onsite lower level secure parking garage. At the same time, the design responds to the surrounding natural environment by taking full advantage of vistas of the breathtaking Sedona Redrocks. This building will serve as the communications and dispatch headquarters for all of Northern Arizona. LEA worked closely with the Sedona Fire District Communications Staff and Communications Dispatch Console vendors to design functional dispatch and equipment room layouts for the project. Taking advantage of the tight site, the projects server and electronics room is located immediately below the dispatch floor for efficient direct connectivity to dispatch consoles. The project also includes space for GIS technicians, an EOC, as well as office space for the Fire District, Sedona Police, and Sheriff’s Department. Other key components include exercise and locker room facilities, raised flooring for mechanical/communication systems, and a training/meeting room.
